LAHORE: Pakistan Whites won the International Beach Handball Tournament with six points, after beating Pakistan Greens team in the last league match at the University of Agriculture in Faisalabad on Thursday.

Pakistan Greens bagged four points to officially take the second position.

Nepal finished third with two points while Afghanistan ended at the bottom with no points.

But a spokesman of the Pakistan Handball Federation said that in a goodwill gesture, Nepal were placed second and Afghanistan third.

On the final day, Pakistan Greens defeated Afghanistan 2-0 with a score-line of 29-6, 26-8, while Pakistan Whites blanked Nepal 2-0 (23-6, 24-13).

Muhammad Khalid Mahmood, director general of the Pakistan Olympic Association, gave way the bronze medals to the Afghanistan players.

Haji Mohammad Akram Ansari, MNA and patron of Pakistan Handball Federation awarded the silver medals to the Nepal players.

Chief guest Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmed Khan, Vice-chancellor of University of Agriculture presented the victorious Pakistan Whites squad with the gold medals and the champions’ trophy.
