Rs11bn for Thatta, Sujawal districts

THATTA: The Sindh government has allocated Rs11 billion for rehabilitation and uplift of health, education and road communication infrastructure as well as new development schemes in Thatta and Sujawal districts.

This was stated by PPP lawmaker from Ghorabari Syed Owais Muzaffar Hashmi at a press conference held in the DC office at Makli Darbar Hall late on Wednesday evening.

Earlier he presided over a joint meeting of provincial secretaries, sitting and former lawmakers from the area and other stakeholders including Sadiq Ali Memon, Sassui Palijo, Humaira Alwani, Arbab Wazir Ahmed Memon, Iqbal Durani, Qazi Shahid Parvez, Wasim Mohammad Ursani, Aijaz Ahmed and Altaf Khwaja.

Mr Hashmi told the press conference that Rs760 million would be spent on rehabilitation of infrastructures in Sujawal sub-division and Rs210 million on the development schemes to be executed in Thatta district within the next six months.

He said the government had also earmarked Rs60 million for upgrading and providing all relevant health facilities to hospitals in Sujawal district.
