KARACHI: All compressed natural gas (CNG) stations will close their operations for two days in Karachi and in the interior of Sindh separately, the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) announced on Thursday.

During these shutdowns no gas sale will be allowed to vehicles in the entire Karachi and Sindh regions.

The industrial sector will observe only one-day shutdown as per normal schedule on Sunday, April 20.

According to a notification issued by the gas utility: “In compliance with sectoral priority order for gas load management, during the coming week, all CNG stations in Karachi region will remain closed for two days — from 8am on Tuesday to 8am on Wednesday for 24 hours. The second such shutdown in Karachi will be observed between 8am on Thursday and 8am on Friday.

“On the other hand, in the interior of Sindh the first CNG shutdown will be observed from 8am on Wednesday to 8am on Thursday. The second such shutdown in interior of Sindh will be observed between 8am on Saturday and 8am on Sunday.”
