KARACHI: Two local employees of a UN agency went missing from Sohrab Goth on Friday and are suspected to have been kidnapped.

“Two men associated with the UN have gone missing after returning from picnic,” said Karachi AIG Shahid Hayat Khan.

A police official said that Unicef employees Sami Nawaz and Farrukh Saleem had gone to a picnic resort near Gulshan-i-Maymar.

From the resort they went to a bus terminal on the highway where Mr Nawaz was to receive his wife, he said. When she reached the bus terminal, her husband was not there and his cell phone did not respond.

She told police her husband had made his last phone call to her at 7:30pm.
