LAHORE: A watchman allegedly strangled his five-month-old son in Kot Lakhpat on Saturday.

Police arrested Murtaza, who was residing in a quarter adjacent to an under-construction plaza near Ferozepur Road.

The police said the suspect had denied allegations saying his son died after falling from the rooftop of the building and his wife levelled allegations against him because of a family dispute.

Quoting his wife, the police said Murtaza strangled his son as he thought she had relations with another man.

Initial investigation expressed doubt on the authenticity of the allegations levelled by the woman and police sent the body to the morgue for autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
