HYDERABAD: The complainant and three prosecution witnesses picked out one of the five suspects nominated in the murder case of Aqib Shahani, the son of sessions judge Khalid Shahani, during an identification parade before the fourth civil judge and judicial magistrate on Thursday.

The GOR police produced in court Irfan Ahmed aka Faheem Yousufzai after his arrest in Karachi.

The complainant, Mr Hunain, and the prosecution witnesses, Ms Shamsunnisa, Ms Komal and Mr Adil, the mother, sister and brother of the deceased, respectively, identified Irfan Ahmed as one of the nominated suspects.

They stated in court that Irfan was not the man who fired on Aqib Shahani but “he got hold of the victim from the neck and made him to disembark from vehicle while four others [assailant] fired on him”. Another suspect, Abbas Siyal, has already been identified before court through his picture.

Aqib Shahani was shot dead on Feb 19 within the jurisdiction of the GOR police station.
