ISLAMABAD: A 29-year-old person was shot dead in an incident of target killing on Kashmir Highway, within the limits of Sabzi Mandi Police Station, on Thursday.

According to police, Noman Khan was driving his car when two persons, who were chasing him on a motor bike, opened fire at him killing Noman on the spot.

A police official, requesting not to be identified, said that Noman was an employee in excise office and belongs to Lucky Marwat.

“A police vehicle, which was present a few hundred yards away from the place of incident, tried to chase the suspects but both of them managed to flee from the crime scene,” he said.

Duty officer of Sabzi Mandi Police Station Muhammad Khan said that, after the incident, the dead body was shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) for autopsy.

“There were marks of as many as six bullets on the body of the deceased,” he said.
