KU security

STUDENTS who travel by motorcycles and cars to Karachi University fear every day whether they will be allowed to take their vehicles inside.

This is because of checkposts manned by Rangers’ personnel and campus security guards who are supposed to check the identities of students.

Students linked with political parties are allowed to pass through the gate, but others are checked unnecessarily.

A number of cars belonging to students are seen parked at the gate as they are not allowed parking inside the campus. The students, therefore, have to walk a long distance. This is because students are not issued a pass for vehicle in the morning shift. This is because there are point buses available for them. However, they are not sufficient for the large number of students.

The vice-chancellor should take notice of the problem and make the procedure easy for everyone to procure a gate pass to reach his class in time.
